The little girl takes her time
She feels like she's in a bind.
Her teddy tight in her arms
Her mum’s comforting charm.
Lucy notices the pain in her eyes
and resists the urge to cry.
Her big brother Peter grabs her hand
As the soldiers go marching by in a band.
She was confused, why was the world mean?
Why couldn’t everything be happy and green?
Her sister Susan walks with her head down
Lucy looks around at the town.
So many children leaving their mum’s
Because a country decided to drop bombs.
Oh, how those scared Lucy! The loud sounds and shatters!
She could almost hear the sound of the roof clatter.
All of a sudden her mind is back at the present
They walk up to a train and remembers the time at home spent.
Reading books, playing games, no nothing will be the same
And she didn’t know who was to blame.
Edmund, her second older brother
Resists to go and hug his mother.
Why must we be strong?
Surely we won’t stay away that long?
Her eyes weld up with tears
and feels everything she fears.
A kiss on the cheek, that’s all the time she had
Peter grabs her hand to lead her away, trying not to be sad.
Susan cries and boards the train
Edmund pretends not to feel any pain.
“So this is how it should be,“ she thought
She wonders where she will be brought.
This is a poem based off of the song "Evacuating London" from the soundtrack "Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe."

Pretty much tells a story in poetic form of how Lucy feels when she has to leave London due to the war. I don't own Narnia the movie but I thought it would be fun to write it out in a poem.
