I saw the change in her,
How she started to cry,
Saw that she was miserable,
And wanted to die.
Her sister abandoned her,
Her brother, too,
We then began to wonder,
If we were abandoned, too.
The pain dug deep,
It's damage revealed,
We lost some sleep,
The memories sealed.
Families torn apart,
Sister's parted ways,
And the one's that were smart,
Just stayed away.
We were always "confused",
"Too young to understand", they said,
We saw how we were being used,
Letting it get to our heads.
Counselors saw the pain,
We needed someone to blame,
Our feelings were slain,
As they continued the game.
We tried to surrender,
At the foot of the "king",
Not the slightest bit tender,
Did he attempt to bring.
It was then we knew,
That we had grown a distance,
That for the rest of our lives,
We would question our existence.
This describes what I'm going through right now with the divorce and all. I spent 3-4 days writing it.
