She had a shadow that followed her,
and would scream in fright.
It bore a whisper of death

So slowly she wrapped around her neck
What was to be hope.
That no one would ever find out
Exactly what was spoke.

"Have you ever seen a dying star?" He asked her. The girl shook her head, confused.
"A dying star," he began slowly, "is magnificent. It radiates color, light, life," he paused for a moment and looked into the dying girl's eyes.
"During all of that, it produces chemicals, and those chemicals work like seeds to grow a new generation of stars."

like the sky
when the light touches the dark
and the moon gives way to the sun

He saw her curled up in his bed asleep, dreamless and quiet. All he had to do was look at her, and he knew he was going to be okay. Imagine how he must have felt when he let her go. Imagine the skies that remained dark when there was no sun to light it.
But the sun always returns, and where there is no moon there are only stars - and I think that is why he is lonely. All the stars in the galaxy and he felt as if he couldn't touch a single one.
